This series on Robert Henderson’s teachings is based off my notes, which I took as I read his book: Father, Friend, and Judge: Three Dimensions of Prayer that Receive Answers from Heaven, in Jan 2025.

Definition:

• A gate is a place of entrance
• For the Spirit realm to have an entrance into the natural, there must be a gate that comes into agreement with it
• This can be a person, an organisation, or anything that allows the spirit realm access through it

Examples of gates:

• Matt 16:18: Jesus said to Peter, on this rock He will build His church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it
• The rock / church, are things in the natural, that can also allow satanic influence to come through them
• And it is the job of the church to shut / close these gates through revoking their legal right to operate
• Sometimes Satan uses people as a gate into the satanic spirit realm, to bring its influence of hell on earth, and thus do the will of hell on earth, through these people
• These gates have the right to operate, because someone in the natural has granted them legal access to come in
• On the other hand, there are gates of righteousness that allow God’s will and influence to be done on earth

Church as the gate:

• Gen 28:17: How awesome is this place, this is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven
• When Jacob encounters God at Bethel, he realises he is in the gate of heaven, and the house of God
• Jacob was prophetically describing what the church was to be
• And thus, we as the house of God are to be a gate of heaven
• In other words, heaven can enter and penetrate the earth through us as the gate of heaven

Coming into agreement with heaven:

• When we come into agreement with heaven, heaven can enter through us and impact the earth!
• John 5:19: The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do
• Miracles entering the earth realm from heaven were a result of heaven and earth coming into agreement
• When Jesus saw what was happening in heaven, He became a gate for it to enter earth
• As a gate He simply did in earth, what He saw happening in heaven
• The result was miracles!
• Jesus as a gate in the natural, gave heaven the legal right to enter earth by agreeing with it
• So likewise, when we discern what heaven is doing, and we agree with it, the supernatural impacts the earth
• This is the power of discerning / sniffing out, what is going on in the unseen realm

Discerning both good and evil:

• Heb 5:14: Solid food belongs to those of full age, who have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil
• Through discernment, we can sniff out both good and evil
• In other words, we can determine the heavenly realm operation, and the operation of the evil realm
• When it is the heavenly dimension, we come into agreement with it, by our faith and actions
• This allows heaven to manifest on earth, as shown above
• But when it is the evil realm, we undo it and know how to revoke its legal right to have operation in the natural realm
