Intercessors Training for Singapore: Session 15

Intercessors Training for Singapore: Session 15

This series on intercessors training for Singapore is based off my written notes, which I took as I attended a church conference on this topic in Feb 2025.

Speaker: Ps John Mulinde

Let’s now cover the other remaining two points.

So the last session in Intercessors Training for Singapore: Session 14 article, we were talking about the first foundation stone of living a consecrated life.

Now we move on to the second foundation.

Let’s recall the scripture we read last session, says the love of Christ compels us, so therefore we regard no one according to the flesh.

Remember how we talked about the flesh, the carnal nature.

Other translations interpret v16 as, we regard no one from the worldly point of view.

The whole world see things from that vantage point.

And after we come to know Christ, that because he died for me, we live for him.

So we don’t consider anything else.

In v17, if anyone is Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed say, and all things become new.

And we see to this scripture say stop looking at things, judging people you have used to do before.

The verse is saying drop all your opinions, forsake everything you ever knew growing up, and adopt a new world view.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, all things have become new.

So what is this newness now?

What is the leverage we use to anchor ourselves to this newness?

The next verse v18, all things have passed away, and have become new, and all things are of God who has reconciled us to himself Jesus Christ and given us the ministry of reconciliation.

The word ministry, today we understand some people are in ministry, they have chosen to serve the Lord with their lives.

But the one wider ministry, Jesus says if you give to anyone a glass of water in my name is ministry.

I want you to think of ministry, as a reason to live, purpose to live, and serving God.

God has occupied us, he has engaged us, he has conscripted us into his service.

We are no longer jobless, he has conscripted us into his employment.

We are no longer available for any other thing in this world, we are taken engaged and under someone’s employment.

If a girl is engaged, she is unavailable to other suitors, she doesn’t entertain anymore, and if you were to try she says I’m engaged.

And that’s the same, we are engaged to Christ, not available for anything in this world, except the purposes of God.

And that is the second principle, I live for nothing but to fulfil his purposes of God in my generation.

I will go anywhere because of that, and speak because of that.

There is no other force in my life, that sways me.

If I’m not sure whether to go somewhere or not, I don’t unless for the purposes of God.

But if he shows me his purposes, I might say I can’t do it.

In the Bible and remarkable people mentioned in the Bible like Moses, Abraham, he doesn’t accept that for an answer, that we can’t do it.

The first thing he will assure you, not by power or might but your responsibility is to keep your eyes on me.

Here I’m Lord, use me, break me, make me.

This attitude will never entertain the idea of I can’t Lord.

I can’t because pride, because it tends to think God is depending on your strength.

Who says I’m depending on your strength?

It solves a lot of things.

When the Lord spoke to me about Go Nations, I was in Malaysia 2015.

In hospital, wondering if my days have come to an end.

And I say is it that Lord?

And he said I want to trust you with something, it’s big, and you never done anything like this.

Then he started talking about Go Nations.

I ended up laughing, it’s means my time is not up, but it also means Lord you still plan to do some things through my life.

And I felt like Sarah when I laughed, that big Lord, with this remaining life I have?

I didn’t say O God how am I going to do it?

If anything I had moments of apprehension, asking Lord is this going to come through? It looks impossible.

Then I have to pray for myself, Father help my unbelief, and build me up in faith.

Never look at anything and say I can’t, because the Bible say all things are possible to those who believe.

To man it’s impossible, but to God it is.

So trust God, if he shows you something, it matters to him.

And he thinks you should be part of it.

When he starts something, he also finishes.

So I said thank you Lord for considering me, take me, break me, mould me.

A readiness to go on errand for the Father, anytime.

Someone in Uganda showed me things the Lord was showing him.

And I could see clearly that the Lord was raising up for certain work.

So I said to him, yes this is from God, I affirm you, how can I help you.

And he said, Pastor I don’t feel capable, this is what God wants, but I feel like I can’t.

Either you pray for me to feel confident, or pray for me to be released.

So I told them brother you don’t need prayer, the Bible says nothing is impossible with God.

What did Eli teach Samuel to say to the Lord? Speak your servant is listening.

Everyday you may meet people in your life, that knows what God wants them to do, but don’t do it.

When God first spoke to me, about going the length and breadth of Uganda.

Spoke to me about the redemptive destiny of Uganda.

And now He wants me to spread altars across the land, it was too big.

And somehow we got wisdom, went to one of the leading apostles of the country, and asked where do we start?

And he said, the Lord has told you to go to the body of Christ across all streets in the nation.

Before you go there, share with the people in the capital, and ask them to pray for you, and bless you.

Ask them for their permission, to go to their districts.

So we spent another 2 months preparing, before going out to share.

And in about 80% of them, we heard I have ever God said that to me, he showed me this thing 5-10 years ago, but this happened that happened, we started then we stopped.

A majority had actually heard God spoke.

And I remember God said to me saying, you were not the first choice to do this work.

But everybody I have spoken to, didn’t go.

Maybe the Lord has already shown you the circle of influence, ministry.

But you say I’m not good for it, I will pray for him to go.

And God say you may not be the first choice, but you may be the choice.

Then we walked into a church met a busy pastor who confessed he received those same words a year ago but didn’t do anything about it.

God said if he doesn’t do anything about it, he will choose someone.

And now he has been passed by, and have chosen someone else.

So if the Lord is pointing somewhere, it’s to do God’s purpose in our generation.

Remember David rested and was laid with his father, having fulfilled God’s purposes in his life during his generation.

Let me touch the last principle of life, the Lord gave us.

And it says, I submit to the supreme law of love, to love God with all my heart, and to love my neighbour as I love myself.

Even when they don’t deserve to be loved.

Sounds easy, until you begin to say what is love.

Love covers a multitude of sins, it covers no record of evil.

And when you make a commitment to this, there will be times people hurt you, you feel pain, Lord this is not fair.

Lord says love them, it was never promised to be fair.

Because when you were still an enemy, the Father loved you and gave his son.

Love is challenging, it can be painful.

But when you commit to these principles, surrender becomes easy.

When you begin to struggle, remember you have already made the commitment, then you say Lord give me the grace.

Whereas somebody who have not made this commitment, will argue with God for a week, is this what you want Lord, it’s not fair.

So these three foundation stones, but they make all the difference.

And they will help to anchor your prayer author, to rise in authority, to come up against the barrier.

And you will just remember, my life is not my own, it belongs to him who gave me eternal life, let his will be done.

I’m not trying to do anything my own, but what he tells me to do in my generation.

I submit to the law of love, not my own love, but the way he loved me, when I was not worthy, when I was still an enemy.

That is how I’m supposed to love, even when it feels unfair, that’s how it’s supposed to be done.

Some people came into my life, and criticised me this is why people have taken advantage of you, now we have come around you, and not going to accept this but stand up with you.

But I didn’t argue.

And after a year and half, one of them said, you know I have learnt so much from you.

When I first saw you, I thought you were too simple, and meek, and people just took advantage of you.

But as I looked at you, that’s where your strength is.

Now I’m praying, make me like him.

Let the word of God testify it’s not your strength, knowledge, ability, but Him manifesting himself in you.

These things are not visible, but when people look at us and say how did he do it.

But it is not by power or might.

Remember in Intercessors Training for Singapore: Session 14 article, I asked God give me the power to work great miracles that people may believe.

And these three foundations are the secret.

Yes you are an intercessor, but the secret is not prayers they say, but the character, their foundation of faith, and their relationship with the Father.

Don’t just look at their prayers, but their relationship with the Father, and their life principles.

Because all these combined together, make you the intercessor you would want to be.
