This series on intercessors training for Singapore is based off my written notes, which I took as I attended a church conference on this topic in Feb 2025.

Hallelujah, are we ready to go.

We are going to continue the flow we have been continuing in the last session.

And pray the Holy Spirit will give us understanding, in this kind of prayer.

1 John 5:14-15: Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He will answer.

And once He hears us, and we know whatever we have asked, we have got it.

This is not a probability, but sure deal.

And it took me a very long time to fully accept it, which took me through a journey like asking what exactly is the will of God.

How do I make sure I’m asking according to His will?

Let’s look at another scripture.

John 8:30-31: Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, if you continue in my word, you are my disciples indeed. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

He’s talking to Jews who are not only Abraham’s descendants, but believers in Jesus Christ.

But later on in v43 they were not in agreement at some point.

v43-44: Why do you not understand my speech, and can’t even hear my word. You are the father of the devil, and he was a murderer from the beginning, and there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a lie and the father of it.

In our last session, Intercessors Training for Singapore: Session 7 article, we took time to paint the picture of the cause of the world which we lived in.

And also lived in the prince of the power of the air, and that prince is the spirit now at work in the children of disobedience.

All spirits and demons take their character from Lucifer.

So what Jesus said here of the father of liars, is true of all evil spirits.

So although the Jews had already believed, they were not let free completely.

That’s why Jesus says, you still have desires of your father the devil.

You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and when he speaks a lie he speaks from his own.

Think about all people in SG, who don’t know the truth and are under the influence of the devil.

They stand up and advocate for what they believe, but it’s lies.

They cannot pray effectively for God.

How do we pray effectively, if we ask anything according to his will.

The whole world cannot know his will as they don’t walk with him, so they are hidden from him in darkness.

They don’t even see the brightness of the gospel, they can’t hear the hope of the gospel.

They are lost, and it’s only the intercessors who can penetrate in the spirit and break those bondages.

Now I would like to share with you the battlefield.

Because if you are going to fight the enemy, you need to know where he’s situated, and that would determine your weapons.

The enemy we are fighting are positioned in three different forces, the ground forces, the midrange and terrestrial forces.

So we need to know how to engage with each other them.

So we are going to look at each of them.

2 Cor 10:4-5: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds, and casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

So we can cast down strongholds, and vain imaginations, bringing captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

We have seen how we can pull down strongholds.

Let’s look at arguments next where in our body it starts? The mind.

Now where to find high things that exalts itself, the mind.

So we see when the devil attacks, he starts in the mind, and put in us his thoughts to create disobedience.

He is the father of lies, speaking lies from his own resources.

How did we manage to flow with the cause of the world last time?

The mind, so we believed and worshipped the idols, practised ungodly family values, government, lived in ungodly social norms, believing every lie from the media, from culture, education, entertainment, and our peers.

And we thought we were right, and were convinced we were living for a cause, that’s bondage.

I’m trying to paint a picture for you to see your society.

This people out there, this is what is real in your lives.

So in the battlefield ground level, forces of darkness work in the minds of individuals binding them with lies.

The bondage lies in the mind in the lies, next the heart the desires where the devil comes in and twist those desires.

The devil makes it feel as though they are irresistible.

Third bondage is in the flesh, and that can manifest in any kind of bondage, infirmities of all kinds, torment, being a slave of mammon.

All these things we normally see praying for people in church to come out, is not an isolated spirit.

But a bondage system.

So sometimes we wonder why people keep going back for deliverance again and again.

But we see how the devil works, he keeps scouting and reoccupy people’s life.

This freedom of people’s life is not fought by the evangelist, the pastor, the teacher, but the intercessor.

If nobody is praying into these lives, breaking the yokes of bondage, the gospel will be hidden to these people.

That’s why prayerful churches are healthy churches.

If I’m not prayerful or being prayed for, my mind will be filled with lies, and my desires will be driving me, and eventually my chains of bondage would be holding me.

And I need somebody to come and set me free.

That is why Jesus comes to set captives free, he came to destroy the works of the devil.

So I’m walking in the land of SG, but I’m captive and not free.

The second level of captivity is called worldliness, forces of the world, remember what we talked about the causes of the world.

So these forces put hooks, so they can drag me.

So I can say what I want to do I cannot do, and what I hate I cannot do.

Who can set me free, because there is a hook taking me where I don’t want to go, and involvements I don’t want to.

And that is what the people of this world experience, that’s why God needs intercessors.

Each of the five causes / spheres we covered previously in Intercessors Training for Singapore: Session 7 article, are hooks.

That’s why they live worldly life.

And this bondage at the world level is called the midrange.

In the midrange level, there are priests of the kingdom of darkness.

They service these forces, some are religious priests, others are priests that deal with family, who promote those things which cause people to be bound, the bloodshed behind abortions.

And the rest of the population simply falls into them.

That’s why the Bible says, when the ungodly priesthood prevails, the law of the land changes to ungodly.

But if the godly priesthood that is the church, intercede and prevail, then what happens is people’s hearts are changed as the atmosphere is changed and revival happens.

People repent, drug addicts don’t take drugs anymore, people don’t steal anymore, why because the law of the land has change.

And intercessors have a powerful and privileged position to play.

Now let’s talk about last warfare in the heavenlies, Paul says in Eph we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, and rulers and darkness of this world, and the hosts demonic forces in the high wicked places.

Sometimes these high places are called territorial spirits, they control territories.

That’s why some places few different, why because there are different territorial powers over each land.

The character of the spiritual territorial power, will be the character of the city.

Because that power, works through the cause of the world, and connects with the lies of the mind and desires of the heart.

So it makes people be driven, according to its character.

If it’s a spirit of greed, you feel it in the city, people are impatient rude, they don’t care what you think in pursuit of money.

Another city may be more relax, but sensual in every way, promoting sexual pleasure.

Other societies are oppressive, you go into the city, and feel the depression where everyone is weighed down, and that is the principality and character.

When you understand this, you will be more aware oh this is what is in the city.

Firstly, we should guard our mind, don’t let the lies of the territory get in your mind, because if you give him a foothold, and then he takes a mile.

That’s why in Eph 6, we have the weapons of our warfare.

You read and watch the TV, and say no I don’t take that in my mind, but another person just consume it and join people next day in protests, because they believed the lie.

Remember the angel told Daniel, I have come to give you understanding, but I have been fighting, the prince of Persia.

Persia was an empire, so the angel was referring to a territorial spirit.

So the angel told Daniel, I was held up there for 21 days, now I’m going to give you words, and when I leave I’m going to fight the prince of Persia again.

Because the spirit of Persia was controlling the territory, so when he goes down he has to fight, and comes up he has to fight.

And the angel then said, once the Persian prince leave, the prince of grace will come in.

But we know from history after the Persians, the Greek took over.

So the angel was telling Daniel soon the Persian empire will change and be defeated, and the atmosphere will begin to change.

The angel then said he was alone, what does that mean?

Angels are ministering spirits, each of us have an angel assigned to us, his work is to serve you, when you ask for anything from heaven the angel carries that package to you.

So if I’m Daniel praying for the whole nation, then I’m putting my angel alone fighting all other devils in the high places.

So that’s what the angel was saying to Daniel, get other people to pray and join forces so there would be more angels.

Don’t try to take on praying a nation alone, it’s too much to take.

So we have seen the 3 levels.

Let’s go back to 2 Cor 10:4.

Listen to the last statement, be ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

When you are praying for the nation, you can pray for many things in general.

But once in awhile the Holy Spirit will burden us to pray for something.

And this is where the scripture we saw if we ask anything he will give.

So you join hands with others having similar burdens.

And as you pray more, the Holy Spirit will reveal more to you, and show you why they are captives.

And sometimes we may say oh no I also believe and live like that.

And now if I’m going to pray for them, I have to first change, and repent.

And as you repent you are changing your mind, and giving the foothold you are giving the devil in your own mind.

So as you repent and change from a lie to a truth, the truth will set you free in your mind.

The truth takes over from where you have allowed the lie, and what happens to you is anointing and authority.

To speak to the devil you have to let go.

So notice, me as an intercessor also changing.

As the Lord is using me to intercede for people, he is showing me if there are any bondage in my life.

And every surrender increased authority and power in intercession.

That means we are not all equal in intercession, I may have an area of authority which my brother doesn’t have.

Because the Lord has taken him through that area.

So we have different levels of authority, and power, in different areas, and when we come together we will be more effective.

So there doesn’t need to be a crisis before interceding, but as an intercessor you can see in the spirit.

And you can see danger already, so everyday you bring this intercession to the Lord, let your will be done, and kingdom come.

And if you are praying in faith, you will see things others don’t see, small breakthroughs that the Holy Spirit might show us to build your faith.

So you believe more, and know your prayers are working.

Every story of revival is a collection of small breakthroughs.

Initially many people may not notice the small number of breakthroughs, but when a large thing happens like revival and testimonies grew, people will notice and ask you have you been praying.

People then begin to acknowledge, and they come to you saying teach us.

Some you have talked to last time they didn’t want to believe.

So don’t wait for crisis, come boldly to the throne of grace, to build your prayer life.

This builds the anointing, and authority.

And one day the government call you, just like how they called Daniel: I know a man whom the spirit lives in.

Believe in the Lord who started a good work in you, and he who called you is faithful, and if you stay consistent and faithful, one day you look back on this day, you will say thank you Lord for building me up.
